We're a small family farm located a short drive from Madison, Wisconsin. We offer already-picked and u-pick strawberries during strawberry season (usually mid-June - July 1) and sweet corn, tomatoes and other vegetables in late July and August. What's Happening on the Farm?  

June 4: The rain this week has helped the berries continue to ripen. We plan to open for u-pick on Saturday, June 5!

June 1: The warm weather has moved the berries along enough for us to be able to sell already-picked berries this week, by pre-order. We still do not have enough ripe berries for pick your own, but we are watching closely!  

May 30-31: John and helpers are busy planting the last of the tomatoes, kohlrabi, and melons. The warm weather is helping the berries to continue to ripen. We think we will have enough berries to sell already picked berries soon, depending on weather conditions.

May 28: We picked our first handful of berries already! If conditions keep up, we should be about a week ahead of schedule for berries this year.

May 25: We planted our last planting of sweet corn today. Now just to keep the turkeys from plucking out the seeds from the ground (John observed a turkey going directly down the row plucking out the seeds recently. The turkey must have been happy that we provided the food in such an easy-to-obtain manner!)

May 8-9: Hard frost for two nights threatened the berry crop, which is ahead of schedule because of the warm spring we have had. John and a helper stayed up both nights to irrigate at just the right time in order to protect the flowers and buds. Thanks to their actions most of the strawberries appear to have made it through.
